The Rosebuds Program was created in honor of Ms. Anita Roseanna Quince-Perteete, who is the Mother of our Founder, Her Excellency Ms. Shanta Lana Hereford.
Ms. Quince-Perteete, who most people now refer to as Ms. Rose has experienced an extraordinary life. She spent a short time in the Army before becoming the first female officer on The Beloit Police Department. Her tenure with them ended when she decided to pursue her creative passions of hair braiding and fashion design. In the late 80’s she was exposed to drugs which resulted in a battle against drug addiction for over a decade. She spent a short while incarcerated before going clean. Today, Ms. Rose has been clean for nearly 30 years and is a successful property owner and caregiver for other Veterans who have owned and operated a taxi-cab service for the disabled, ran a furniture rehab store, a restaurant, a beauty supply store, and more.
The Rosebuds Program is designed to empower our new clients (Seeds) who enter our program by accessing their overall needs and matching them to immediate resources within our network and the community that can provide compassion, care, and nourishment in order to help them bloom into their full potential and become one of the most beautiful flowers of them all, a Rose.
