The Center for Truth and Healing’s “Seniors in Motion” Series Kicks Off with a Spectacular Start
[Stone Mountain, Georgia – Dec 2023] The Center for Truth and Healing (CFTH), a Georgia nonprofit organization with a mission to be a place for care, compassion, community, collaboration, and change has proven once again why they have been voted as one of the best nonprofit organizations in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
True to its mission, CFTH collaborated with caring and compassionate community partners such as The Brantley Foundation, JenCare Senior Medical Centers, Shana Lynch Solutions, Shanta Lana LLC, and East Memorial Drive Revitalization (EMDRF) to create a new event series that has started with raving reviews.
The “Seniors in Motion” series is a new monthly program designed for active seniors fifty-five years of age or older. The program launched on Thu. Dec 21, 2023, at The Atrium Performing Arts Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia, nearly 60 guests were in attendance. Guests were treated to a catered dinner prepared by Cafe Brownstone’s Catering. Commissioner Larry Johnson and volunteers from CFTH and EMDRF served the food. During their dining experience, songstress “Moxie” serenaded the audience with a blend of her hits and some holiday favorites. The event
was filled with fun activities and free resources including bingo games, a few rounds of The Price is Right, free tablets and phones, free healthcare information, free teeth whitening, and raffle giveaways. Guests left with smiles and gift bags full of gifts, thanks to sponsors such as JenCare, Humana, Commissioner Larry Johnson, A World Teeth Whitening, The East Memorial Drive Revitalization Foundation, and The Center for Truth and Healing.
“This program was developed due to popular demand. Many of the seniors I work with, share with me all of the time that they feel abandoned, disconnected, and as if many people in the community have forgotten about them. The “Seniors in Motion” series aims to make our seniors feel connected to the community and let them know that they are appreciated” stated, community partner and event organizer, Shana Lynch.
The events will be held every 2nd Saturday from 1 pm – 3 pm. Locations to be announced. The next “Seniors in Motion” event is “Soup, Salad, and Soul Stepping” set to take place on Sat. Jan 13, 2024, from 1 pm until 3 pm at The Atrium Performing Arts Center, 5479 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. Registration is required. Limited to the first 100 to register.
