The Center for Truth and Healing Celebrates 7 Years of Community Cheer
[Stone Mountain, Georgia – Dec 2023] The Center for Truth and Healing (CFTH), renowned for its dedication to care, compassion, community, collaboration, and change, has once again demonstrated its commitment to these values. This past week, CFTH hosted its 7th Annual Winter Fun Festival at The Atrium Performing Arts Center, in partnership with key community stakeholders including The Brantley Foundation, Southern Fire Kitchen, East Memorial Drive Revitalization Foundation (EMDRF), Izora Dennis Ministries, JenCare Senior Medical Centers, The HYPE Magazine, Maverick Global Distribution, Faith and Steam LLC, Kids Sew Genius Foundation, and Phenomenal Girls Group Home.
Since its inception in December 2017, the Winter Fun Festival has become a cornerstone event, touching the lives of over 3,000 children by providing gifts and memorable experiences. This year’s festival featured a sumptuous dinner by Southern Fire Kitchen, and special guest Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson surprised families with $100 gift cards. The event’s atmosphere was electrified by the performance of 10-year-old music prodigy Zion Joy and the enchanting storytelling of Atlanta’s beloved Mama Koku.
In addition to music and storytelling, attendees enjoyed a plethora of activities and resources. Kids Sew Genius Foundation provided free clothing, shoes, and coats; Faith and Steam LLC offered engaging STEAM games; and thanks to The Marine Foundation’s Toys for Tots, bikes and toys brought smiles to many faces. A World Teeth Whitening added sparkle with teeth whitening services, and various raffle giveaways added to the excitement.
Her Excellency Shanta Lana Hereford, Founding Director of CFTH, expressed her heartfelt satisfaction with the event: “This festival is not just a celebration; it’s a commitment to our community. Each year, we strive to bring a ray of hope and joy to families during the holiday season. It’s an embodiment of our vision at CFTH to create a nurturing and supportive environment for all.”
The annual Winter Fun Festival is scheduled every year, the week before Christmas, at The Atrium Performing Arts Center. Registration opens on November 15th. Those interested in vendor opportunities, sponsorships, or wishing to contribute can contact CFTH via email or phone.
