Dekalb County Charities And Local Businesses Come Together To Host The 5th Annual Winter Fun Festival

Atlanta, Georgia – This holiday season, 300 local youth and their families will be selected to attend the Center for Truth and Healing’s 5th Annual Winter Fun Festival. The Winter Fun Festival is an annual event hosted by the Center for Truth and Healing (CFTH) and its community partners; The Brantley Foundation, Phenomenal Girls Group Home, The Atrium Event Center, and The Star Factor Effect. This year, several other DeKalb County nonprofits, Hyped 4U Mentoring, Izora Dennis HOPE Ministry, and the East Memorial Drive Revitalization Foundation, are coming aboard to help spread the holiday cheer.

For the past four years, CFTH, its partners, and sponsors have distributed food and toys to more than 1,200 families living in the states of Georgia and Wisconsin. Before the pandemic, families could come and enjoy entertainment, games, refreshments, and more. Due to Covid, parents had to pick up their gifts and leave their children at home last year.

“Besides being a supportive resource to low-income families, we host this event to see the kids and parents enjoy themselves. Not having the interaction with them last year took a lot of the fun out of the event,” states Shanta Lana Hereford. Ms. Hereford is the founder of CFTH and a U.S Global Goodwill Ambassador. She founded CFTH in 2017 to help individuals and families experiencing hardships. “We are very excited about this year’s Winter Fun Festival. We have added more partners and have been putting our heads together to create a fun and interactive event where everyone can still enjoy entertainment, games, a holiday dinner, and our annual toy giveaway, all while abiding by local safety guidelines and practicing social distancing”.

The 5th Annual Winter Fun Festival is Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 1 pm until 4 pm at The Atrium, 5479 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia. This private event is open to the first 300 registered children under 12 years of age and their families. Parents can register at bit.ly/winterfunfestival2021.

Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are available. In-kind and monetary donations are encouraged. Caterers and restaurants apply at bit.ly/feedfamilies2021 to contribute.
